The face behind Nicola’s Creations
My name is Nicola. I am the owner of nicola’s creations. I live in Essex with my partner Jack and my parents.
I have worked in childcare for 13 years and have loved working with children but struggled to keep a job due having learning difficulties and not knowing how jobs could help me as I am awaiting to get diagnosed for ADHD and autism.
In March 2023 I decided I was going to focus on my small business as I was struggling working a 7am – 6pm job and then coming home to work till late on my business.
Where it began
In 2021 my partner Jack bought me my first Cricut maker as I wasn’t working whilst in lockdown and I was watching on social media everyone getting a Cricut. In Christmas 2021 I made some Christmas presents for my family where I got multiple comments like “wow this is beautiful” and “do you have a business”. The presents included light up bottles with a different quotes on them.
In 2022 I took the family’s advice and looked into starting my own business but with no knowledge in business I didn’t know what to do so I joined in with the Princes trust business course and received a level 1 certificate in business.
In 2023 I decided to go all in with my business as I was struggling to work a 40 hour shift and then coming home to make products. I enjoyed designing then making the product.
